Not nearly as terrifying as writing on the first page of a notebook, or nearly as exciting. But the topic of the blog makes up for the lack of excitement that a typing instead of writing gives.
The topic of this blog?
Me.
Studying Abroad.
In Malaysia.
For 10 months.
Scary? A wee bit.
Exciting? Indubitably.
Intimidating? No doubt.
A lot to be learned? Unquestionably.
My journey begins on July 16, when I board the plane for Los Angelas, California, my connecting flight out of America and into the south-east asian country of Malaysia. I can't begin to describe how boggled I feel that I was given the chance to throw myself head-first into the culture of such a unique country. Many people have asked me "Why MALAYSIA?". I found myself capable of only smiling and answering that while Malaysia doesn't offer the eiffel tower, big ben, or the statue of liberty, I know Malaysia will offer me the astounding opportunity to delve into an untouched culture, where the landmarks are not corrupted by tourism, and the people don't offer fake smiles in hopes making only money. I'm so incredibly excited for this opportunity because it's so unique to me. There is just so much to be learned and experienced before, during, and after I go.
As of now, there are 41 days until I leave. Which is about 41 too many...
Who knows, I may end up rocking back and forth counting down from 100 in Bahasa Malay until it's time for me to board my plane.
Until my next entry, mempunyai hari yang hebat, have a great day!
